Review: Watermelon Slicer & Melon Baller / Fruit Carving Knife

Monday, April 17, 2017

Summer is fast approaching and watermelon season is almost here! Ever wonder how to slice your fruit in style? This tool might be a perfect addition to your kitchen.

I personally love watermelons and melons, especially during hot seasons. So when I came upon this product, I was excited to try it. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review and feedback.

The box comes with two tools - the watermelon 2-prong slicer and the melon baller that can also be used as a fruit carving knife. The slicer is made from high-quality stainless steel, and it has a non-slip, comfort grip handle. I am now able to serve beautifully sliced watermelons. Cutting and slicing watermelons has never been easy, quickly serve and mess free!

On the other hand, the 2-in-1 tool scoop and fruit carver have a smooth stainless steel handle with plastic accents. The baller part comes handy when making fancy fruit drinks or scooping many types of fruits or even ice cream! The carving part is perfect for artistic people who find it fun to create cool fruit and food designs. It can also be used to slice or diced other soft, easy to mold food.

Both tools are easy and fun to use. They are sharp enough to cut and slice fruits but not too sharp to be dangerous to use. They have cute designs and vibrant colors too! It's an amazing little helper in your kitchen especially this coming summer!

Review: Happy Flight Passport Cover

Sunday, April 16, 2017

Looking for a simple but stylish passport cover to protect your passport and other travel documents? You may want check this out.

I recently received this Happy Flight Passport Cover at a discounted price for my honest review and feedback.

This product is available in up to 7 vibrant colors. I was a little disappointed when the cover arrived because I was not expecting the color to be a dark blue since the one in Amazon was a baby/powder blue color which was far beyond the color I received.

This passport cover has a pretty generic quality and made from Enamel PVC. The cover was larger than my passport with  a dimension of 16.9 x 13.4 x 9.1 inches. It has a slip-in compartment on the left side and two available slots on the right where you can put extra notes or documents you would like to carry.

Although I am not entirely thrilled with this product, it's a good cover that can protect your passport. Due to its waterproof PVC material, your passport and other documents can be protected from getting wet, and it can easily be wiped clean from dirt. The bright color was a plus because it makes it easy to spot on when you need it, with those vibrant colors, you are safe from leaving it behind.

Review: Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor™

I've always been a lover of Matte Lipsticks, but when I was given a chance to try these Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor, I fell in love!
Personally, lipstick is the only makeup I can't go without. Having a problematic, acne-prone face, I am usually afraid of trying anything but lipstick. Having said that, I am also picky in choosing what to put on my lips. Recently, I was fortunate enough to be selected by Crowdtap to try these Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor in exchange for my honest review and feedback.

I received 3 amazing lip colors: Sand (#700), Rhubarb (#745), and Vineyard (#760). Just by looking at their packaging, I know that Rhubarb would be my favorite among them since I always consider bright reds as my color. But all these colors are definitely shades I will use for every occasion.

I like their simple packaging and the fact that the tube's color is more or less matches the color of the product. It makes you easier to grab the color you like from the pile of lipstick you may have. Moreover, I like the slanted tip that makes it easy for a precise application. It has a sweet and fruity scent that people with a sensitive sense of smell won't like, but it doesn't bother me that much. It smells good!

Sand - Rhubarb - Vineyard Swatches.

SAND

I am not a fan of nude shades, but this Sand color from Revlon was an exception. I love the look of it on my lips, unlike the other nude shades I've tried before that made me look like a sick person. I can wear this every day and just by completing some of my day to day errands.

VINEYARD

I also love this berry-like pink color on my lips. It made me look younger and radiant. This color is perfect for a casual date night and simple party night outs with family and friends. This is now officially my second favorite color among the three.

RHUBARB

As I have already mentioned, I consider bright red as my color, and when I asked my husband what's his favorite for me among the three colors I have, he picked this one too. This color makes me feel fierce and more comfortable. Definitely a favorite!

Nude 'Sand,' Sweet 'Vineyard' and Rocking 'Rhubarb' look.

OVERALL VERDICT

What can I say? I am super impressed! Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor is lightweight, hydrating and pigmented. Being known to have hyaluronic acid, it gives an ultra hydrating formula for the lips. It's comfortable to wear without that sticky feel that I hate with glossy lipsticks. It swipes smoothly on the lips but has the tendency to glide outside your lips, so it's better to use it with a lip liner.  The lipstick is not transfer proof which is understandable with this kind of formulation. It stays on your lips for quite a good while but not too long, but it's always easy to re-apply. Overall, they look and feel good on the lips!

Have you tried any of these? What is your favorite color?

Review: Facial Cleaning Brush by Beauty Artisan

Saturday, April 15, 2017

First-time facial cleaning brush user here! And I was glad I was able to try this cute facial cleaning brush as my first.

I can tell you that  I am a late beauty-concern bloomer and I am not entirely familiar with so many things regarding makeups and beauty routines! But right now, I am slowly learning.

One of my first discovery is this so called Facial Cleaning Brush, and fortunately, I was able to have one at a discounted price for testing and review purposes.

The packaging was simple and nice. However, the manufacturer of the packaging misspelled the word "cleaning" in front of the box.
Cla-ning instead of Cleaning.

I fell in love with the cute color and design of the brush. It was a 5.48 inch in length with an arc design and a matte-textured handle. It perfectly fits my palm and has a comfortable grip. At the bottom of the handle was a string that you can use to hang the brush after using (which I don't find hygienic for some reasons). The bristle of the brush was super soft! According to the description in Amazon.com, it has 26 million pieces of high-quality nano-antibacterial fiber from Japan which sounds amazing!

It massaged my skin pretty well and gentle. I discovered that using a brush in your facial cleansing routine was more effective in penetrating the pores thus removing the dirt thoroughly than just by hand-washing your face. After I had used this, my skin felt smooth and clean. This facial cleaning brush was the first brush I ever used on my face, and so far I loved it, and it's now officially included in my daily facial routine.

Joyal Beauty Vitamin C Eye Gel Review

Being someone who always has puffy eyes and dark circles under my eyes, I was thrilled when I was chosen to try this Joyal BeautyVitamin C Eye Gel.

I received this product complimentary for testing purposes and my honest and unbiased review.

Let's talk about the product itself first. The Joyal Beauty Vitamin C Eye Gel is made in an FDA-registered lab here in the US (Westlake Village, CA 91362 to be exact 😊). The Key ingredients of this eye cream are:

1. Vitamin C  - boost healthy collagen, even skin tone & brighten dark circles.
2. Peptides - improves skin resilience and reduce fine lines & wrinkles.
3. Avocado - also help to reduce dark circles.
4.  Hyaluronic Acid - Attracts and lock in moisture & prevents free-radical damage.
5. Caffeine - helps treat eye puffiness and eye bags.
6. Plant Stem Cells - treat wrinkles & sun damage and support skin's cellular turnover.

The brand pledge to be of purity with NO parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, silicones, propylene glycol, mineral oils, sulfates, artificial fragrances, synthetic dyes, triclosan, tea, DEA, and EDTA added. It is Alcohol-Free, Paraben-Free, and Cruelty-Free! It claims to be gentle and efficient in protecting the delicate eye area against photoaging while softening the appearance of fine lines and minimizing dark circles and puffiness under eyes. The bottle is a generous 0.5 oz (15 ml) with an easy and anti-mess pump that will last you for quite some time.

It has a cream-like texture.

The eye gel has a very light organic smell (like cucumber?). It's also very light and just a small pump you'll have enough to cover both eyes.

Is this product effective?

I regularly have puffy eyes, dark circles, and eye bags, but when I first use this eye gel, I was suffering from lack of sleep since I was accompanying my husband to the hospital to look for his sick dad. So, you can imagine how my suffering eyes look -- yes, a combination of puffiness, eye bags, dark circles and fine lines.

This is how my eyes look like before using the Vitamin C Eye Gel.
My eyes after using the Eye Gel for less than a week.

What I love about this product is that it feels soothing and cooling when applied around the eyes. It dries up fast too, and the skin around my eyes feels so smooth afterward. I've only been using it for less than a week, and I've yet to see any significant change in my eyes. Well, it must have been because I'm abusing my eyes lately - staying up late at night, using the computer all day long and playing games on my phone in the dark. But I think dark circles under my eyes are slightly lightening. So for now, I'll keep on using this eye gel because I know it's worth a try. I've read a lot of good reviews about this product (claiming it to be the #BestEyeCream) and great feedback about the brand as a whole as well.

I'll update you guys after another week or so to let you know any improvements.
