2GF Bio Mix Mask Pack Review

Tuesday, December 5, 2017

On one of my previous posts, I showed you my PR package from the brand Swanicoco. Over the next few days, I will be posting a detailed review of each of the products I received from them. I will be starting off with the masks.

For today's mask review, I will share my experience on using the Nature Bio Cosmetic Dr. Syul by Swanicoco 2GF Bio Mix Mask Pack.

About the brand:

Swanicoco is a South Korean Beauty Brand that is known for their naturally-based, fermented and safe beauty products. They become the top natural cosmetics company in the Republic of Korea for their ceaseless bio development research to create a natural biosystem. Interestingly,  the word “Swanicoco” means that they pursue the elegance of a “swan” (feminine), and “coco” means “coconut” (as they offer botanical natural cosmetics).

Mask Claims:
  • Firming / Wrinkle-Care
  • Moisturizing
  • Nutrition

Key Ingredients:

The 2GF
  • Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) -  a molecular chain of amino acids that stimulates skin growth at the cellular level and may also help increase collagen production.
  • Fibroblast Growth Factors (FGF) - responsible for stimulating fibroblasts in the skin to make more fibroblasts (proliferate) and manufacture more matrix (hyaluronic acid, collagen, elastin).
These two Growth Factors both have the primary function of repairing the skin and producing collagen. By combining these two growth factors, a product that focused on wrinkle-care, elasticity, and anti-aging is created.

Experience:

This is a bio-cellulose mask. I always enjoy this type of mask since it has better adherence and better moisture retention plus the essence can penetrate more efficiently. There was no noticeable smell and the essence was just enough. I left it for about 25 minutes and enjoyed the slightly cooling effect on it on my face which is soothing.

I removed it, my face is still wet. It took a while before it dried completely. I felt that my pores are a little tightened, my skin brightened and it felt smooth as well. I love this mask and would like to try this again.

Here is the full list of ingredients:

It retails at $4 here.

Stay tuned for my other masks reviews from Swanicoco!

Have you ever received a PR package from a brand or a company? If you are a blogger or simply a product reviewer like me, you know that receiving a free box of goodies is always a good thing! Especially if it's from a great brand that you have been wanting to try. I recently received my first PR package from Swanicoco and I'd love to share you guys what I received.

  • Swanicoco harnesses Korea’s high-tech biotechnology to provide products with not just time-honored botanical ingredients but those that are science-based, ranging from epidermal growth factors to snail mucin to fermented ingredients.
  • Originally founded in 2000 by Seong Chunseon as a way to treat her family’s sensitive skin.

FoodAHolic Grain Natural Essence Mask Review

Wednesday, November 8, 2017

Another face mask I have the pleasure of reviewing complimentary from Skin18. So let's see how my experience has been.

As most of you already know, I am a face mask lover. So when I discover the Blogger Pack Program of Skin18, I did not hesitate to apply! This was already my 2nd masks I received from them, and currently, I am a Level 2 Blogger in Skin18, which means, I received 2 masks.

Both of the masks I received was the FoodAHolic Grain Natural Essence Mask. This mask, as the name implies, contains grain extracts such as Phaseolus Radiatus (Mung Bean) Seed Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, and Glycine Max (Soybean) Seed extract. These grain extracts claim to supply nutrition to the skin and prevent roughness and dryness to make it glow.

The main claims are NUTRITION & REVITALIZATION. But it also focuses on Smoothing, Wrinkle-improvement, Moisturizing, and improving the elasticity of the skin.

This was my first 3D-shape mask. It was kind of an odd shape with a seam in the middle but the fit and adherence were both great, it actually covered my entire chin well. It has a nice smell and the essence was just enough, not too dripping.

I left it for 20 minutes on my face and my skin felt soft after.  It has no "wow" effect but it was a good mask in terms of being moisturizing and smoothing.

L'oreal Revitalift Triple Power Anti-Aging Intensive Moisturizer - #Revitaliftchallenge

Tuesday, October 31, 2017

L'oreal was generous enough to send a 14-day sample of their new Revitalift Triple Power Intensive Anti-Aging Day Cream Moisturizer to women across the US and fortunately, I was one of them. How was my experience? Read along.

To be able to tell if a product would be effective for you, samples are very important. And of course, an adequate amount would be needed to be able to try the product and see results afterward. L'oreal went above and beyond by giving their consumer, not only a week of complimentary samples, but a 2-week supply (14 day samples) to try their Revitalift Triple Power Intensive Anti-Aging Day Cream Moisturizer. These ample amount of samples are definitely enough to tell if its worth the buy.

I remember how excited I was upon receiving the samples in the mail. It comes in small pods and I love how it has the days on each (explicitly shown Day 1 - Day 14). I honestly sometimes lost track of the days so for me, this was helpful. The small pod was to be used AM and PM. The thing I found hard with these samples was to balance the amount to two uses. Although, this was just me and I am not complaining about it.

The product itself has a creamy texture, and mind you, the smell was amazing! Although I prefer my skin care or beauty product to have no fragrance, the smell of this cream is tolerable to my sensitive sense of smell. These small pods have more than enough product to cover your entire face and neck.

Last day - Day 14 :)

This product claims to visibly reduce wrinkles, re-firm skin and smooth skin's texture. During the 14-day #RevitaliftChallenge, I can honestly say that I achieved those claims. I love the intensive moisturizing feature of this product since we are now experiencing the colder season and my skin needs all the moisture and hydration it can get. It leaves me no sticky or tacky feeling when applied and it glides smoothly on to the face. This product is perfect for those who are looking for an anti-aging cream that keeps the skin moisturized.

Dermal Pearl Collagen Essence Mask Review

Tuesday, October 3, 2017

I have been using a facial mask for quite a while now. But this would be my first time reviewing one here in my blog since I usually post my detailed review on my Instagram account.

Well, I hope you enjoy my first Face Mask Blog review, and hopefully, I can post here more often!

So the first mask I will have the pleasure of reviewing is the Dermal Pearl Collagen Essence Mask. To tell you honestly, I have already tried quite a few Dermal Collagen Essence Mask, and as far as I can say, I love all of them!

This particular Pearl Mask was one of my favorites. Its main features are moisturizing, convergence, and brightening

The main ingredients are 0.02% Pearl Powder and 0.2% Hydrolyzed Collagen. The Pearl Powder has found to be of benefits to keep the skin younger-looking and beautiful. It also helps in reducing pore size, lightening the skin’s tone and improving its texture. While on the other hand, Hydrolyzed Collagen helps in supplying amino acids that are necessary for healthy skin.

Other ingredients include the following:

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis, Leaf Juice, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Beta-Glucan, Panthenol, Tocopherylacetate, Polysorbate 80, Disodium Edta, Xanthan Gum, Perfume, Methylparaben.

This is generally how I used the mask:

1. Wash off my face, let it dry and apply my usual toner.
2. Remove the sheet mask from the package and unfold it.
3. Put the mask on the face avoiding the eyes and mouth area.
4. Let the mask sit on the face for 20 minutes.

Tip: Refrigerate the mask before using for a refreshing facial treatment.

My overall experience:

The sheet mask has enough essence on it - considerably wet. This mask fits and adheres great on the contours of my face. It has a great smelling mild fragrance too. I love the slightly cooling effect of it on my face. My face was still wet after I removed the mask, so I have to pat dry the remaining essence.

It left my skin felt sticky for a while but made it feeling refreshed and moisturized after. It has also made my skin clearer and brighter.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mishe Report Club Campaign: First-Do Spot Patch Set Review

Tuesday, August 1, 2017

Being a person who loves Korean beauty products and trying free stuff,  I was thrilled to be part of the Mishe Report Club by Mishe Beauty.  Mishe Beauty offers a variety of Korean Beauty products ranging from Skin Care, Hair Care and Bath & Body. The newly launch Mishe Report Club allows Korean Beauty enthusiast like me to browse through the ongoing campaigns and apply to products I'd like to try for free. If selected for the campaign, the product would be directly sent to you, and all you have to do is try the product and post the review after.

Fortunate enough, I was selected to my first campaign right after I registered and applied for products to try. I was chosen for the Artpe First-Do Spot Patch Campaign. Yay!

I received a box with 3 sets of different sizes of patches. 4 pieces of 23mm Micro-Pyramid Spot patches, 9 pieces of 14mm Micro-Pyramid Spot patches and 12 pieces of Clear Spot Patches.

So what is MICRO-PYRAMID SPOT PATCH SET?

It's a set of micro-needle acne patch that delivers treatments to eliminate blemishes and minimize the spread of bacteria. Each clear adhesive patch utilizes micro-needle to provide salicylic acid, green tea extract, and hyaluronic acid to help control troubled skin and blemishes. Salicylic acid treats blemishes and prevents the formation of new breakouts, green tea extract works on the skin-dwelling bacteria involved in the development of problem skin, and hyaluronic acid keeps skin hydrated. (as detailed in Mishe Beauty's website).

It's good to know that this product is free of Parabens, Synthetic Colors & Fragrance. It's ideal for Oily and Acne-prone Skin Types.

My Experience:

This product arrived just in time when my not-so-friendly pimples are coming out. I immediately tried using it the night of the day I received the products. It is best to use this product before bed time since it has to be left for at least 8-12 hours. It should be applied to clean and dry skin, choosing the right patch size that can cover the pimples or blemishes and pressing it down for 10 seconds. It is not advisable to put any cream or moisturizer to your face before applying the patches since it may reduce its ability to adhere to your skin. You can use the same patch on the same spot but not more than 3 times. I use my patches twice only before I disregard them. I remove the patches every morning upon waking up.

Within 3 night of consecutively using the patches, I noticed that my pimples had dried out faster and since it's isolated, it prevented the bacteria to spread to the surrounding skin that will likely to cause another pimple or in a worst case scenario, breakouts. It doesn't dry out my skin as well as you may expect from a product with a Salicylic acid, thanks to the Hyaluronic acid that it also has.

Before, During and After photo

Overall, I am pretty much satisfied with this product and will consider buying more of these in the future.

If you want to try this product too, you can buy this at Mishe Beauty's website here: http://mishebeauty.com/skincare/kits-and-sets/micro-pyramid-spot-patch-set

June IPSY Glambag

Wednesday, June 28, 2017

I have a love-hate relationship with Ipsy. Like I wanted to keep subscribed but at the same time, I just really wanted the free bag I received from a friend. The latter choice won but unfortunately, I forgot to cancel it on time, so here it is my June Ipsy Glam bag!
I love trying new things, especially beauty products and I am currently drawn to subscription boxes, but I am trying hard to resist as I don't see a need for an additional expense that would hurt our current little budget. 😀

So, although I felt sorry that I wasn't able to cancel my subscription on time, I can honestly say that I felt excited receiving and opening it.

I have kind of interesting products in my bag that I actually haven't tried at all. So here are the products included in my June Glam Bag:

💖The cute bag with a big red lips design in the middle
💖The NYX Professional Makeup Whipped Lip & Cheek Souffle in Cocoa Bean shade. It's a Nude Brown color that can also be used for contouring. Although I found this product interesting and has never tried it before, I chose to gift it to one of my friends.
💖The Beauty For Real I-LINE 24-7 Eyeliner in 24 Karat shade. I fell in love with its vibrant gold shimmer shade that looks good on my eyes. It has a Gel Formula that is super pigmented and vibrant in color. I used it multiple times already, and it's a long-lasting wear liner which I love.
💖2 BioRepublic Skincare in Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask & Green Tea Detox Purifying Fiber Mask. I haven't tried any of them since I have other sheet masks to seek to review, but I am always excited about new masks to try so this would definitely be in my lineup before the end of this month, hopefully.
💖theBalm Cosmetics Balm Springs Blush in a Rosy blush shade. It's super tiny, but I found the packaging nice. The color was pretty, but since I live in Florida, it didn't last long and faded quickly unlike its claims to be a long-wearing blush.
💖The City Color Cosmetics Shimmer Shadow in Cheers to Life shade. I did love the bronze color, but I am no fan of glitters and super shiny colors regarding beauty products, so this one was also gifted to a friend.

Although there is still a part of me that wanted to retain this subscription, I managed to cancel it this time. So, this might be my last Ipsy Glam bag....for now!

Have you received the same products that I got in your Ipsy Glam Bag this month? Share your thoughts in the comments below! You can also watch my unbagging video below:

My First Approved CrowdTap Sample Application: Revlon ColorStay Bundle & Super Length Mascara

Wednesday, April 19, 2017

Crowdtap is one of my favorite platforms in getting free stuff. I've got a long list of sites where I get my free products or samples, but I can tell you that Crowtap would be in number 1. I have only been a member for about a month, but I already earned $20 Amazon gift cards and was approved for two fantastic sample applications.  Today, I would love to share with you the first free full-sized sample products I've received.

I was fortunate enough to be chosen to try some amazing products from Revlon. I received a total of 5 beauty products complimentary from Crowdtap in exchange for my honest review and opinion.
The products were Colorstay Brow Crayon, ColorStay Brow Pencil, ColorStay 2-In-1 Eyeliner, ColorStay Creme Eye Shadow and the Super Length Mascara.

Revlon ColorStay Brow Crayon in Soft Black
I can say that this was my least favorite among all the Revlon products I received. Due to the huge-crayon-like shape of it and the big tip of the liner (plus the fact that I am still learning this whole new perfect-eyebrow -thing world.), I had a hard time applying it on my eyebrows. It did define and shape my brow but not in one sweep as it claims because the product seems to be a little greasy for me, I had it smudge all over especially when applying it to the edges. One thing to watch out for this product was when you touch it, it smudges easily. It is, however, blendable and because of its unique wax to powder formula, it can stay long in your brows (just remember not to touch it).  I also loved the fact that it is waterproof. You can get it in 4 shades - Blonde, Soft Brown, Dark Brown and Soft Black.

Revlon ColorStay Brow Pencil in Soft Black
I love this product better than the Brow Crayon. As I've mentioned, I am a beginner in the 'brow-thing-world,' and this Revlon pencil was just what I needed. It was easy to use and didn't give me a hard time applying it. The angled tip did help me out for precise application, and the brush, on the other hand, was a great help in blending the color to my brow. I love the creamy texture of the brow pencil and the fact that it's waterproof and has a 24-hour lasting formula. It's available in 5 shades - Blonde, Soft Brown, Auburn, Dark Brown and Soft Black.

Revlon ColorStay 2-in-1 Angled Kajal in Onyx
This is one of my favorite from the Revlon Colorstay Bundle. I don't always wear eyeliner, but when I do, it's during special occasions, so I spent time perfecting how to apply it. And this ColorStay Eye Liner from Revlon made that easy for me. It was so easy to use because of it's angled tip and with the help of the smudge brush, I was able to achieve a perfect smokey eye. It does not smudge in my eyes and last long as well. It glides smoothly, and you can easily control how thick or thin you want your liner to be. It's also good to know that it is ophthalmologist tested and safe for use on waterline. It's available in 4 sturdy shades - Onyx, Fig, Evergreen, and Graphite.

Revlon Colorstay Creme Shadow in #720 (Chocolate)
I don't usually use eyeshadow especially the powder ones because my eyes are sensitive and can get easily irritated. However, this creme eyeshadow did not give me that irritation. I love how the color looks in my eyes - simple but classy with a matte finish. The packaging design was neat and cute, and I love how it has a built in tiny brush in the bottom. It's pretty pigmented, easy to use, so smooth, waterproof and long lasting. It's available in 4 unique finishes - metallic, matte, pearl and satin. It's also available in 12 stunning shades.

Revlon Super Length Mascara in Blackest Black
I rarely use mascara, so I was thrilled to try this product upon knowing that it has a luscious lengthening formula. Using the long bristles, it glides smoothly in my lashes, and the tapered tip was helpful in coating my smaller lashes. The only thing I do not like about this product is that it won't keep my lashes curled. But overall, I like this product. It's very light and easy to apply, leaving you with a natural look without leaving black spots under your eyes. It has 4 shades - Blackest Black, Black, Blackened Brown, Blackest Black Waterproof.

Using these products altogether, I was able to pull out a fierce and bold look. Keep in mind that I am just starting my makeup journey and a total beginner created this look with the help of Revlon ColorStay Bundle and Super Lenght Mascara.

Have you tried any of these Revlon ColorStay products and Super Length Mascara? What are your favorites?

You can also check out my second Approved Crowdtap Sample Application also from Revlon here.

Review: Facial Cleaning Brush by Beauty Artisan

Saturday, April 15, 2017

First-time facial cleaning brush user here! And I was glad I was able to try this cute facial cleaning brush as my first.

I can tell you that  I am a late beauty-concern bloomer and I am not entirely familiar with so many things regarding makeups and beauty routines! But right now, I am slowly learning.

One of my first discovery is this so called Facial Cleaning Brush, and fortunately, I was able to have one at a discounted price for testing and review purposes.

The packaging was simple and nice. However, the manufacturer of the packaging misspelled the word "cleaning" in front of the box.
Cla-ning instead of Cleaning.

I fell in love with the cute color and design of the brush. It was a 5.48 inch in length with an arc design and a matte-textured handle. It perfectly fits my palm and has a comfortable grip. At the bottom of the handle was a string that you can use to hang the brush after using (which I don't find hygienic for some reasons). The bristle of the brush was super soft! According to the description in Amazon.com, it has 26 million pieces of high-quality nano-antibacterial fiber from Japan which sounds amazing!

It massaged my skin pretty well and gentle. I discovered that using a brush in your facial cleansing routine was more effective in penetrating the pores thus removing the dirt thoroughly than just by hand-washing your face. After I had used this, my skin felt smooth and clean. This facial cleaning brush was the first brush I ever used on my face, and so far I loved it, and it's now officially included in my daily facial routine.

If you want to buy yours, you can visit this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XPQVTKY

You can also watch my short Vlog about this product below.

So, what's your current Facial cleaning brush?

Joyal Beauty Vitamin C Eye Gel Review

Being someone who always has puffy eyes and dark circles under my eyes, I was thrilled when I was chosen to try this Joyal BeautyVitamin C Eye Gel.

I received this product complimentary for testing purposes and my honest and unbiased review.

Let's talk about the product itself first. The Joyal Beauty Vitamin C Eye Gel is made in an FDA-registered lab here in the US (Westlake Village, CA 91362 to be exact 😊). The Key ingredients of this eye cream are:

1. Vitamin C  - boost healthy collagen, even skin tone & brighten dark circles.
2. Peptides - improves skin resilience and reduce fine lines & wrinkles.
3. Avocado - also help to reduce dark circles.
4.  Hyaluronic Acid - Attracts and lock in moisture & prevents free-radical damage.
5. Caffeine - helps treat eye puffiness and eye bags.
6. Plant Stem Cells - treat wrinkles & sun damage and support skin's cellular turnover.

The brand pledge to be of purity with NO parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, silicones, propylene glycol, mineral oils, sulfates, artificial fragrances, synthetic dyes, triclosan, tea, DEA, and EDTA added. It is Alcohol-Free, Paraben-Free, and Cruelty-Free! It claims to be gentle and efficient in protecting the delicate eye area against photoaging while softening the appearance of fine lines and minimizing dark circles and puffiness under eyes. The bottle is a generous 0.5 oz (15 ml) with an easy and anti-mess pump that will last you for quite some time.

It has a cream-like texture.

The eye gel has a very light organic smell (like cucumber?). It's also very light and just a small pump you'll have enough to cover both eyes.

Is this product effective?

I regularly have puffy eyes, dark circles, and eye bags, but when I first use this eye gel, I was suffering from lack of sleep since I was accompanying my husband to the hospital to look for his sick dad. So, you can imagine how my suffering eyes look -- yes, a combination of puffiness, eye bags, dark circles and fine lines.

This is how my eyes look like before using the Vitamin C Eye Gel.
My eyes after using the Eye Gel for less than a week.

What I love about this product is that it feels soothing and cooling when applied around the eyes. It dries up fast too, and the skin around my eyes feels so smooth afterward. I've only been using it for less than a week, and I've yet to see any significant change in my eyes. Well, it must have been because I'm abusing my eyes lately - staying up late at night, using the computer all day long and playing games on my phone in the dark. But I think dark circles under my eyes are slightly lightening. So for now, I'll keep on using this eye gel because I know it's worth a try. I've read a lot of good reviews about this product (claiming it to be the #BestEyeCream) and great feedback about the brand as a whole as well.

I'll update you guys after another week or so to let you know any improvements. If you want to try this product for yourself, you can check it out here: http://www.amazon.com/Cream-Circles-Under-Puffy-Wrinkles/dp/B0131T8LIE/ref=sr_1_1?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1439428577&sr=1-1&keywords=eye+cream%2CB0131T8LIE
